Managed Desktop
In 2003 we determined that recruiter’s IT systems needed three key attributes.
- Reliable – it had to be up all day every day
- Simple – relatively few applications are required and they work predictably
- Fast – recruiters expect their technology to work quickly and immediately.
We have developed a new way of delivering IT functionality to recruiters, using Microsoft’s Terminal Services technology.
Key benefits are
- Every Consultant sees the same desktop
- Desktop is centrally determined – consultants are unable to change settings
- All applications work seamlessly and cannot be broken by users
- Reduces maintenance and upgrades to a small number of central servers rather than tens or hundreds of PCs spread across multiple locations
- Improves security
- Specialised users (eg accounts, directors) are able to see and access the applications they need within the same environment. These apps not visible to normal users
- The same desktop can be accessed from anywhere within the network – moving locations internally becomes straightforward
- The same desktop can be accessed from outside the network over the internet from authorised locations – perfect for homeworkers and disaster recovery purposes
Some companies have attempted to deploy the same technology themselves – entirely possible – after all this is public domain technology created by Microsoft.
However, we have spent 5 man-years of development and support time perfecting our deployment templates – the policies and restrictions that we have identified and implemented make our Managed Desktop unique to recruitment and specifically the deployment of Adapt v8 and v9 over Terminal Services.
We would be pleased to discuss what makes our implementation different, and allow you to speak to our existing clients that have been growing their businesses over the past 3 years using our advanced implementation.
